My work often involves taking a painting to the brink of destruction and then resurrecting or unearthing the image.
The sky in the above rendition was flat and uninteresting with too much white.
I created more depth in the background and ended up with clouds that were warm and had more depth. Not bad, but I trapped Lachesis and gave her no place to fly.

Scissors, she has scissors in her hand... in case she wants to cut the strings and fly by herself?
ReplyDeleteMaybe...But actually, I was inspired by Greek Mythology for this one. She is the third of "The Three Fates". In the first post of this painting, I included a poem to sum up the source of inspiration. That might explain the scissors!
